Today I received the new 17″ screen to be fitted into a HP DV9500 Laptop. The process of replacing the LCD screen fairly easy but it’s diagnosing it’s the screen which it the hard part.
This laptop came to me with two lines on the screen and then the backlight would fail making the screen dark and unreadable. Possible causes are LCD screen or screen cable the only way to tell is by connecting a working LCD Screen. I connected a cracked screen from a previous repair and the screen was not showing the same symptoms as the original one.
A Phone call to my supplier and 24 hours later I receive the new 17″ LCD Screen. The Photos below show the fitting process.

Step 1 New LCD Screen

Step 2 Connect the Screen cable

Step 3a Connect the backlight to the inverter

Step 3b it only goes in one way

Step 4a Attach the top screen bracket

Step 4b Screw it in at the top

Step 5 screw in the screen hinges at the sides

Step 6a Push the lid back onto the lcd screen

Step 6b

Step 7a Screw the hinges back to the lid

Step 7b

Step 8a Attach the screen bezel

Step 8b Clip in the bezel all around the lid

Step 9 Screw in the 5 screw around the bezel

Step 10 Push back in the rubbers

Step 11 Remove the protective plastic

Step 12 All done nice and shiny

Wow, thanks for this. My screen got trashed when my husband tipped over the table the laptop was sitting on and broke the LCD panel. This was a great help. Thank you!
Hi Laptop guy, I have an HP dv 9500 PAVILLION and the frame around the screen has been walked on by my grandchild and hence the frame is broken at the hinges, the inverter has come adrift from its two fixings and one hinge is kaput.
Where can I purchase a new lid replacement.and how much.
http://www.chilternitparts.com/ has alot of new HP parts. The part number for your lid will be on a sticker on the inside of the lid. Or you might be able to find a used one on eBay. Didn’t the screen smash?
